Dirk Kruithof is one of the founding members of Waiting for Guinness (along with D.H. Stephenson) and has been involved in Sydneys alternative music scene since 1989.

After the dissolution of his previous band The Hoax in which he played electric slide guitar, Dirk extended his skills to teach himself the Banjo and Classical guitar techniques.

With Waiting for Guinness he has further pursued an interest in songwriting and instrumental music.

A prolific visual artist, his paintings displaying a strong post-pop direction.

His work has been highly praised and represented at various exhibitions in Sydney, including the Firstdraft Directors choice exhibition Conspirasy 2002 and pieces purchased by Avant-Card and the University of Sydney Union.
